Our Managing Director Jonathan has worked in the company for 30 years, growing the business into new markets whilst retaining our consumer friendly ethos. An expert in both buying and sourcing he has travelled across the world, building lasting supplier relationships. Outside work he enjoys both tennis and golf and being married with 3 children ensures that he is always kept busy!

A big part of the Buchanans team, Aaron has been with us since graduation.  In this time has worn many hats, but his main role is stirring the pot with his trusty wooden spoon and maintaining his title as the biggest distractor.

Aaron is a whirlwind of energy with no off switch. A huge sports fan, he’s always up for a challenge, whether it’s golf, ping-pong or snooker. But beware! If you dare to take him on, there’s no winning. The talented Mr. Platt is both a sore winner and a sore loser, so brace yourself for some spirited competition and a lot of laughs, no matter the outcome.

Meet Maria, our Policy Princess and the ultimate Quality guru. She’s the one making sure everyone toes the line with company policies and guidelines. Maria is obsessed with all things Quality and is a HACCP wizard. When you marvel at our high-quality products and detailed specs, you can thank Maria’s eagle eye!

Meet Joanne, our Office Manager and the queen of all things payment-related. Whether you’re a customer or a supplier, if you need anything sorted, Joanne’s your go-to gal. Joanne is our little beam of positive energy, and catching her in a bad mood is like finding a unicorn – nearly impossible!

Joanne is a bookworm extraordinaire, devouring books of all genres.  She is constantly forcing her husband, Michael, to go out and play golf on a Saturday afternoon so she can curl up with a good book.

Meet Katie, who joined us in 2024 and quickly became the boss’s favorite – not surprising, considering they’ve shared the same house for over 20 years! As the Managing Director’s daughter, Katie keeps our stock levels in perfect balance.

Katie’s life motto is “I do really like trees,” which makes her the perfect fit as our Sustainability Manager. She’s on a mission to lead us into a greener, more eco-friendly future.

When she’s not crunching numbers in spreadsheets, Katie is belting out tunes at choir practice, her absolute favorite pastime. She dreams of one day performing Nessun Dorma at the Sydney Opera House. With Katie around, we’re not just in good hands – we’re in green ones!

Cheryl’s focus is on the customers, new and old.  Rumour has it she runs purely on caffeine, and when she is not in the kitchen offering tea and coffee, she has seen herself get many promotions with Key Cutter and Odd Job Organiser being amongst the most esteemed.  Cheryl is always on hand for whatever help you need, and if she doesn’t know the answer you can be sure she will hunt it down, all she asks for is a wee like and share on Buchanans social media as a thank you….every time.  You can often find Cheryl at Tradeshows and Events, chatting all things Buchanan, so if you see her out and about be sure to say hello!

Bianca is our wee country bumpkin.  A big animal lover, when Bianca isn’t in the office, she is being kept very busy by all the animals at home, or her sons as she calls them.  She is also a huge fan of horses and dogs!  The newest member of our team, Bianca has slotted right in and no doubt whether you are placing your first order or your 200th, Bianca’s name has come across your screen!

Meet Matthew. Having had his professional rugby career cut short by a succession of injuries. He tackled the world of finance before realising that his true passion was solving the daily problems that arise in the world of supply chain management. He oversees the operational efficiency of our business, and when he’s not buried in spreadsheets he’s often jumping right into the fires that inevitable ignite. Outside of the office his passions include golf and fashion, but getting him out of office is always difficult as he loves nothing more than hearing Katie’s operatic masterclasses.
